learned how to dance the Hukilau at my department's Holiday Party :)
it is a hawaiian hula dance about going fishing.

It was fun to see everyone with their wives/husbands/kids/significant others of whom we all hear about on a daily basis as part of the "clan/family". GCD is huge.

We had massive amounts of food: several types of sushi, salads, fresh fruits and veggies, tandoori chicken, teriyaki beef, potatoes, other japanese seawead etc, breads and spreads, several kinds of wine, little cakes, dark chocolate covered bananas, dark chocolates with fresh berries on top, coffee, tea, sparkling water...


A very fun evening...

but,

A very bad morning because...

Paid for this plane ticket three times now...most recently, because I accidentally reserved the ticket under the wrong name (didn't realize it until I got the ticket this morning)...and I obviously can't travel under someone else's name. Oh my oh my I was irate. I didn't care whose fault it was that although I paid, it was my advantage miles, and it was I who was making the reservation, somehow the hold name ended up being the passenger name - the pseudo-passenger, phantom-passenger if you will - and I had to pay the airlines AGAIN for the same ticket. Go get'em tiger: the dumb bar just keeps getting higher each day...
